DIY Air Intake Install
Hey...i know this is a simple job but i was looking for a few steps for guidance. There is no air intake DIY on this forum at all. I am still looking on the net.
If anybody knows of a link...plz post it here. One for an EK would be awesome.
Thanks...Salman

Hey Chris...sorry i have been out of touch.
If you do know how to installa an intake...why dont you write the steps down? If you can do them for an EK set up...that will be awesome. I will do it myself and take pics so i can post and everybody can see.
What do u think???

The reason why the black part (sqaure base of filter holder) is so hard to get off is because there is a clamp with a screw that tightens on the bottom of it (holds the base tight to the intake manifold). You have to unscrew this clamp and then it will come off no problem. I just did my intake two weekends ago. Use a ratchet to get it loose then the base will slide off no problem. There is also a rubber gasket inside the base (between the intake manifold and the filter base). This will cause resistance during removal too. The biggest pain in the *** for this job was the front bolt holding the air box in place (mounts air box to the right fender / wheel well). I had to use an extension for my ratchet (almost a foot long) just to get at it. In all, there are probably about 3-4 bolts in this process. It's amazing how much space you free up without that damn air box in there.
