I have heard of ppl actually clear coating them, and i have had mixed opinions on the result. As for a clear film. Maybe that 3M stuff would work? As for my own headlights i waxed mine to keep the water/dirt off them for extra precaution

Never heard of people clear coating them or putting 3M film on them. I just buff it with headlight lens restorer and it stays clear for a long long while.

Thanks for the info. I decided against getting any added protection for my headlight covers and will go ahead with propbably applying a polish and/or wax on top of it here and now and see how long it'll last this time around.

you can put a clear film on or, what you really need to do is spray with a proper haedlight sealant, which is basically a clear coat for the plastic. The professional stuff is supposed to last 2 years or more

where do you get that stuff from? i would rather just re-clearing it because atm i have to re buff every 3-4 weeks..

check with a bodyshop supply store and ask for either Presta or SEM headlight sealant.
