DIY: SeaFoam

I just got a bottle of this stuff for 12 bucks at Metro Auto, I should put 1/3 into the engine oil lid under the hood, 1/3 in the gas tank, and 1/3 in the brake fluid tube right?
But if I dont know how to put it into the brake fluid tube can I just throw it in somewhere else??

pull out the vacuum tube from the brake booster and it will suck in the seafoam when your engine is idling. beware that when that tube is out, the engine idle is erratic, it goes up and down consistantly. the tubes goes from brake booster to the intake manifold, u wont miss it.

Damn, after reading all theype on honda-tech.com, now toronto civics i'm pretty much convinced to try this stuff although im' slightly afraid. I hope it will work good on my 1996 Civic SI with 159,000km's on it, Synthetic oil changes always, well maintained.
CivicNation i gotta reach up that place Carquest Headquarters and I hope to god they have it for the price you said it was, not like $19 a bottle.
Guys, do i really have to change my spark plugs? I only have like 30,000km's on them? Will a long highway drive clean any fouling on my sparkplugs??

Hey guys,
I think I should ask my dad to pick two of these up or more. He is currently working away to get his "new" used car up and running. So far we know the engine is gunked up like ****.
Anyways the car is a 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo. I think this would be a perfect canidate to be used in this car. God only knows when was the last time any changes were done to it.
How many bottles of Seafoam should we go for AND where can we purchase it?
Mike

That 1991 Supra Turbo is a wicked ride man! I driven a couple before when I used to work for Toyota and hate to say it, but they got *****!
Reading the Seafoam threads on honda-tech.com, people with turbocharges actually noticed much smoother boost engagement from the turbos. I'd say start off with one bottle for now, if you notice a difference good enough, then get another bottle. I wouldn't let that stuff sit too long in the crankcase though cause i would imagine that would be pretty strong on the rubber valve seals!

But I don't know about justifying the 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo because you havent seen the condition this is in.
I can't justify spending thousands to get it up and running because frankly when I looked at all the things needing to be done to it, I got and AM scared. Thankfully its not mine but Im going to help anyway.
The exterior has rust, inside is crappy, needs new seats, all the panels were stripped so need to put those back, tail lights are smashed, the engine is supposedly "new" which is BS. The car sounds okay when you start it but things havent been done right. We've been finding things that havent been torqued down properly, things not plugged it, THERES JUST A WHOLE LOTTA STUFF THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
And I dunno if I myself can justify spending thousands on it just to get it running in optimal condition.
Plus we've never worked with a turbo'ed car so thats totally new.
And I've been trying to find a online PDF manual for the car with no luck.
If you have any experiences with the Supras (like working on them) maybe you can hit me up a PM of a list of things we can check for.
Oh ya that Seafoam. I will tell my dad and we'll see if the Carquest here has it.

ooohhhhh Imm doing this to both my cars.
My Hatch back was sitting for a while I bet this would help.
If I only had about 10 litres of gas in the tank, would 1/3 of a can be alright? Im not driving the car but I am selling it.

Personal Experiece with Seafoam
I did Seafoam and after I changed the plugs and they were full of carbon build up. Completely blacked out, but you also have to consider my car did produce a hell of a lot of smoke. My whole street was smoked up. The power was restored and the V-tec is so smooth now. Excellent product, the idle was a bit smoother, but when cars have swaps you gotta expect some sort of vibration. If you put it in your crankcase, make sure you change the oil withing a day or two, because it comes out pitch black.
So in answering your question about the plugs, really just depends on how dirty your motor is.
