DIY: SeaFoam

i did this about 2 months ago on my 02 civic at a garage, i had very little issues with burning oil before doing this, ive drove about 3000km since doing it only to have my maintenance light come on so i checked the oil and i was down 2 and a half liters. be careful using this stuff, ive always taken good care of my car since ive owned it never went over 4800 kms without an oil change, and when it was first done it set off my CEL when i hooked it up to diagnose it i had 3 cylinders mis fire, gonna take it in this weekend i might have to change the seals now.... didnt think i would have to be worried about it as i only had 199000 kms at the time

did this on my 1.7EL with 160k last weekend. Did an oil change the next day and changed spark plugs...smoked a bit at first, but within a few minutes on the highway, the smoking went away...car runs smoother...not sure if it's due to the spark plug moreso than this..but for $8/bottle(crappy tire, on sale two months ago?), and no further harm, seems like it was worth it to clean the engine gunk out a bit

did it today already noticed a dif in the idle and climb and decline of rpms is a lot smoother, doing plugs wires and oil change tom or sat!! best 12 bucks in a while although its not really just 12bucks cause plugs wires and oil change is up around 150 but alls good lol

Not sure if this has been posted on already (don't feel like going through 11 pages), but Berryman's sells an easier way to do this.
The cone goes into the brake booster line, the cap goes into the can. It has a T fitting so it can suck air at the same time it's pulling the chemical (so it doesn't stall/hydrolock).
And since the both B12 Chemtool & Seafoam (as well as all the other similar products, like the STP motor treatment) are the exact same can, you can use whichever is cheaper from there on out.
I used it on my old Accord I had earlier this year, and it worked wonders. I've done it to several other vehicles in the past, all with similar results.
90% of the time, the CEL that comes with it is either the downstream O2 sensor (which is usually a temporary problem. Just clear the code and it usually stays gone.) or fouled spark plugs, which is a cheap fix, or you're probably doing this as part of a normal tune up anyway, so just do it before you change plugs.
