Coin in tread

Anyone ever notice that most people don't get what they're doing when they put a coin in the tread to show what's left? I thought this was common knowledge but guess not. Sure any coin does kinda give you some perspective but the coin thing is supposed to be, use a dime, upside down. The top of the sails to the edge of the coin are exactly 3/32's. This is a quick way to see if the tires would pass inspection in most places but it seems people don't know that little detail. It's even better when they show the coin heads up side so you have to think about if it's a nickel or a quarter.

HabaneroRed06Si- what's with the hate? Got your panties up in a knot?

Useful information dustin. I'm sure many people didn't know that. Should have mentioned that it has to be measured on the wear indicator.

I'll forgive you, this time...

no worries, I don't ever actually take anything personally, online in particular. Even as it was I was sorta in the same mind frame when I wrote it frustrated by seeing a bunch of different ads in a row that made me think of this in the first place.
