Standard Auto Wreckers

Anyone here been to those $45 days? I have never been to the scrap yard before and don't know exactly how this works. Do you pay $45 to enter the yard and get what you want then leave, or do you go in the yard, look around, then if you want something get it and pay $45 on the way out.

Only reason is I don't know if they have allot of Hondas or Mazda Mx3's that I would be looking for parts for.

Hmm.. It's fairly close to my house and that's where I scrapped my old family car (1984 buick century). If I remember correctly there weren't many new cars there. Maybe they had the decent cars hidden away. You can always call them up and ask them if they have a certain car/part in stock.

standard is crap for anything newwer than 91 usually for imports - i used to go on my lunches from school (when i went)

as for the 45$ days - you pay 45$ - go in and grab what you want.. if you get nothing, you havea credit for 45$.. the best suggestion i can make from experience is to go in a few days before, and load everything you want into the trunk of a car that has the keys.. lock it all up and then bright and early sat morning you go in with the key, and badabing, away you go. that's how i helped a friend put a new engine/tranny into his 84 rabbit (don't ask)

that is exactly how it works the parked cars for that place run from past the tracks to jus before the steel bridge. but yeah you can do that, its just tough to find a car with keys sometimes
