Angry OEM Wheel Lock Key busted

Looks like my OEM wheel lock key busted and I can't get the locks off. Anyone know the approximate cost to get them off? Dealer said I would have to bring the car in but didn't give me a price.

It depends on the type of wheel lock. Some are easier to get off than others...

Lost the bolt key for the wife's car, was about 1/2 hr labour to drill off the 4 bolts, + the cost of the new bolts which were 2-3$ each... so it was under 100 for me.

just get the wheel lock remover tool, prob costs cheaper than labor and you can do future jobs as well....seeing as how every car now comes with wheel locks...even ones with steelies

Princess auto and almost every tool store sells wheel lock remover. You hammer it on and it digs into the nut. Then using an impact drive you get it loose. If i recall correctly, its right around 30$

at the outer edge of the offending nut, dremel off a little sharp groove for a cold chisel. tighten the other 3 nuts another 1/4 turn or so. whack it with a cold chisel and small hammer.

Man, most dealers would help you out for very minimal cost or even not charge you anything. As long as its a Mcguard lock set they have the master set and can have them off for you in 5 mins, even if they charged you it wuld be at most $25.
