Metal on metal rubbing sound

Hey guys,

So... I recently have incurred a grinding(ish) noise from the front of the vehicle. I came along gradually as when it first started off... I thought air may have been escaping from the exhaust under my feet or something to that effect. Now it's a noise that the deck can no longer even drown out.

I had thought I knew what the problem was, I assumed rotors. So i picked up a new pair, slapped them on last night and the noise remains. It lessened very just a tad but nothing to write home about.

SYMPTOMS: When the wheels are straight, awful grind.
Wheels truned to the left, awful grind.
Wheels turned to the right, no grind at all and she sounds normal.
When braking, depending on the above wheel positions, the grind is consistent.

I have not lost any braking capabilities, slight rumble as a drive as there should be I guess, seeing as something is clearly rubbing.

Hoping you guys may start suggesting things so that one Saturday I can diagnose and resolve this.

PS. Tried re-positioning the dust shield - sound remains
And took a look at all the brake pad clips - sound remains

Thanks.

Raise the car and spin the wheel. Listen to where the noise is coming from. Inspect the dust shield for rubbing on the rim. Look through everything, if its grinding, it will be noticeable in the surface

My guess is it's a wheel bearing.

Metal grinding noise from wheel bearing? Usually can't hear them at low speeds...unless there isn't much left of the bearing i guess?

Did you even check the brake pads?
